Small Crosshatch Chevron Globe Cup

A petite version of our popular globe cup, these drinking bowls feel amazing when cupped in your hands. The smooth, round bottom breaks the traditional rules of pottery, but references ancient times when round-bottomed pottery was common. The pattern’s inspired by the pottery of the Karasuk Culture, of the late Bronze Age, in Khakassia. The carved pattern is inlaid with white slip, and the interior surface is glazed.

FAQs about pre-ordering

Why are only certain vessels and glazes available for pre-order?

We make all our pre-orders in batches in order to save materials and make the best use of kiln space whilst firing. This means less waste and more efficient use of energy, so we’re as planet-friendly as we can be!

How long does it take to receive my order?

We’ll throw, poke, glaze and fire your piece at the end of each pre-order period. The whole process takes about 4-8 weeks from start to finish, plus shipping time.

How do I know when my order is ready?

We’ll send you an email notification when your order ships from our Maine workshop.

Our glazes

We finish the interiors of our vessels with a variety of food and microwave-safe glazes. Each item is handmade and kiln fired, which leads to some beautiful variations between batches. The examples below will give you a good idea of what your piece will look like.

Ruby

Bright like a ruby-red fall apple. This is a deep, consistent glaze. Full of drama.

Aegean

A lovely variegated glaze. It‘s turquoise when applied thicky and shifts to to amber on high, thinner spots.
