This food-safe birchbark box is ideal for storing liquids like honey, dry goods, or for fermentation. Throughout the ages, they've traditionally been used for anything from fermented milk products, to fish, to pickled vegetables, to making quick beer.
They're made in Arkhangelsk, Russia. The inside is made of a continuous unbroken cylinder of birchbark, slipped whole from the tree, making it watertight. The lid and base are solid hardwood. The handle is layered birchbark. The outside features decorative lacing.
